The NCS Young Artist Performance Program
As part of an effort to promote and encourage the performance of popular and classical choral literature, the Neponset Choral Society sponsors a program entitled "The Young Artists Performance Program". This community program is designed to offer serious high school and college choral singers the opportunity to perform major choral works typically not possible within a school setting, often accompanied by full orchestra. Funded in its entirety by a generous grant from the Sharon Credit Union, up to 16 students receive a full scholarship to rehearse and perform major works as student members of the Neponset Choral Society. Students selected for the Young Artists Performance Program have come from the towns of Foxboro, North Attleboro, Norwood, Plainville, Walpole, Holliston, and Milford.
Since its inception in 1996, our young artists have had the opportunity to perform Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Henry Purcell's Te Deum Laudamus and Jubilate Deo, Opera Choruses, America in Portrait, and Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor.
