About the Neponset Choral Society

The Neponset Choral Society strives for professional quality concerts while providing its singers with the tools to improve their musicality. These goals provide a friendly atmosphere of teamwork and accomplishment for all participants. NCS is a member of the Greater Boston Choral Consortium, a cooperative association of diverse choral groups in the metropolitan Boston area.

Our motto says it all...
"Bringing a higher level of musicianship
to a broader audience base."

Neponset Choral Society is an auditioned group which rehearses at St. Mark's Church in Foxboro from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every Monday night and three to four Friday nights during each part of the concert season.

Our full season of two to three concerts runs from September to the middle of April or May; depending on the music being performed. The first 2 weeks of a concert preparation period are open rehearsals. Anyone can attend these open rehearsals to decide if they like the group and would like to sing with us.

If you decide to join, an audition will be scheduled to determine appropriate voice part and to gauge musical skills.
Information about the when and where of auditions is announced at the open rehearsals.

More audition information is here.

The fees for singing with NCS are as follows:

  • $30 per year to join NCS (this fee entitles you to vote and receive member correspondence).
  • $40 (typically) performance fee per concert, for each concert in which you choose to participate.
  • $15-$25 music fee per concert, depending on the cost of the music.
Typical costs for singing in two concerts: about $150/year.
Note that YAPP students pay no fees.
